A camera is a tool, as is a pen.
My interest is not in using it, but in creating feeling with it. How it felt to have lived that experience, how we look at each other when no one else is looking, the friends we make on hot, summer days.
We create because the human condition is to Feel.
For some of us, love is expressed through the little things that show others how much we care: a roll of film from a past trip, a poem, a birthday video, a photo from the first time a crowd sings a band’s song back to them, a handwritten note… Evidence that we are here, that we’re paying attention, that small moments make up our everything.
Having a camera by my side has always felt like an extension of me; a way to be truthful and appreciative of everything and everyone around me. The pen and paper - a means to put a part of myself in their story.
Creative expression has and continues to be my way of connecting with the World. Each story I’m invited to tell reinforces the love I have for expression and humanity.
